Membership at Beth El means different things to different people. As the gateway to Jewish life, synagogues throughout history have sustained and strengthened us. They support our Jewish identity, enable us to connect with other Jews, and teach us about our rich heritage. And Beth El is, quite simply, a comfortable place to be Jewish.
As a community, we worship, study, nurture our children, and create an extended family, providing spiritual support and a helping hand at good times – births, bar/bat mitzvahs, and weddings – and at times of challenge, illness, and death.
As the center for Jewish activities in the Northern Shenandoah Valley, we welcome our membership’s diverse talents and interests. One member, for instance, built a magnificent ark of cherry wood harvested from the Shenandoah Valley. Another takes care of our electrical needs. And yet another often bakes a world-class challah to welcome new members. Many congregants also serve as teachers in the religious school.
At Beth El, you are not taken for granted. You are both valued and valuable.
As with most synagogues, your membership includes High Holy Day tickets, our monthly bulletin, religious school registration (as well as most school fees), lifecycle events, and most adult education classes.
And, as in all reform congregations, no one is denied membership through inability to pay full dues.

We look forward to welcoming you into our community
