If you are new to the Shenandoah Valley, you may wonder, “Is there a Jewish community here?” Absolutely!
With roots going back to the late 1800s, we are a unique Jewish community, because we choose to celebrate our Jewish journeys at Beth El, regardless of the paths we took to get here.
Whether you came to Judaism by birth or by choice,
whether you are exploring Judaism now for yourself, or
whether you want to support your Jewish spouse/partner,
please take the first step – and give us a call.
We are a mix of “flavors” that makes us accepting and warm and welcoming. We are a blend of Reform, Conservative and Orthodox backgrounds, as well as of seekers and those who have recently chosen Judaism.
Partners of our interfaith families feel comfortable to join in prayer and song and ask questions during services, during Torah study, during everything we do.
Please reach out to us if you are:
- Looking to connect with the local Jewish community,
- Considering marriage to someone from a different faith background, or
- Pondering choosing Judaism
